Scope: Our customer asked us if we could build a conveyor that would be used with an existing trailer, to assist him in his harvest of cantaloupe. We designed and built a double wing conveyor that the harvesters could put the melons on and then transferred to the trailer that was pulled behind a tractor. This saved the melons from being pitched from worker to worker and finally into a trailer, thus reducing the amount of loss due to broken and bruised melons. The next season we modified the trailer once again, adding another conveyor that would transport the melons from the wings up into a bus that was pulling the trailer. Again, reducing the amount of handling of each melon
